Part three: ♥

HEART, we will forget him!
You and I, to-night!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light;
When you have done, pray tell me,
That I my thoughts may dim;

Haste! lest while you're lagging,
I may remember him!

Overwhelmed

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!

Saying it all out doesn't tone down the excitement. I'm flabbergasted! Mounted emotions dwell inside. Eyes closed, flashes of visuals are to be seen as if eyes were wide-open. They connect with delight heart. Screaming. Screaming! of silent shouts. Emotionally tamed.

"You need only to understand that it is not necessary to understand but only to enjoy"

Cookie, you should know that to understand and to feel are two very different things. They, sometimes, contradict and debate.

Neither is now winning.

Journalism

This writing is good. A glimpse eye-opener for readers who unaware of citizen's health rights and obligations.

However, we all know it is all only in writing. The truth lies there and stops there. Don't be naïve.

We all know how the system works and how reality bends it.

Its common knowledge and how we always turn a blind eye.

Yes, I am the skeptical.

ive always struggle, which i should choose. the people or the place.
yah, spertinya i dont live for my own kan, so i chose the first. hence im coming back. this time no grudge, no struggle and without complaints.

Tasmania

Went to Hobart and Launceston for 5 days in total.
Hobart is quite similar to San Francisco, the roads i mean. The town so quiet after office hours, I felt scared wander around the city centre, at 6 PM! yeah, im exaggeratin'.

then came Launceston.
2 Days was just, Enough.

In conclusion (see how compact the story is? same goes for the two towns), the most historical as you could get in Australia, which is basically a country established by and for the English convicts. Correct me there if I'm wrong. Was it in Tasmania where the establishment started? or just the only state not having any other tourist attraction but that.

The more I look around, the more elderly I can see.
It's the state for relaxing and laid back trip, suitable for senior citizen.
But the scenery is fantastic! To those nature adventurers, Tassie is the prolly the best you'd get for some green... and not brown or red, in east coast Australia.

But of course, Indonesia covers most of the green and gorgeous scenery... and def can topped all that! :)

The Friend..

I miss you.. or maybe the idea of having you.. im not quite sure on the definition.
it's a very thin line to define.

maybe the wind, or the puppy-dog clouds that made me think of you different.
yeah blaming the weather is the best excuse I have.

Pfft. whatever

"Well boo hoo. I am so sorry your feelings are hurt... princess! Are you under the impression that family's supposed to make you feel good? Make you an apple pie, maybe? They're supposed to make you miserable! That's why they're family."

Downunder

Here I am.

Back in my old room..
alone with laptop on my lap, covering self with warm doona, iTunes on nonstop.
mind's contemplating aimlessly.

The House.

there's been raving media coverage on inagauration of the newly elected members of house of representatives.

Newspapers have shown images of these new members taken their 'job' down to the aid of sleeping beauty.

It's not so surprising that majority of them wouldn't be so concern about and for the People.

It's not being skeptical to our 'changing' nation's politics, but it came from a very true fact. An insider fact.

Someone very close has been elected as house of rep. And his wife bluntly speaks 'Alhamdulillah, at least for the next 5 years we could get salary and husband only busy for the first month so I don't need to move so faraway out of Java island.'

That translates: I'm getting the people's taxes for my benefit. My hubby only needs to be far for a mere month, while the rest he can be with us in Java, relaxing and receiving salary.'

Although I don't blame them. He was someone important in the Police force. OK, understandable he needs post-retirement activity and salary to feed wife and young kids. He is somehow still has power in the force, so he's slightly eligble to be in the House. Although his interest is never about or for the People. I understood his reasons.

But not for younglings under 25 yo to be elected as members of the House. Out of college with no play in politics or have had any hands-on experience in the society. He won only by splurging daddy's dosh up to billions. Play visits and rubbing hands to major sweet talks made him a winner. Their interest, up to my understanding, is and never was about or for the People but only to their mounted balance deposits.

The latter members of the House don't surprise me. I find them as unfading history.

Online Shopping

I'm sure gazillion people have bought something online. I am one of those gazillions.

I've went through eBay and few others online webs based overseas. The few times I interacted with sellers online, the communication between us always run smoothly and... polite.

Then I got home.
And I experience a whole different interaction between buyer and seller. In plain word, sellers are in charge. They don't please customers as they shouldve been treated. I guess shopping online here don't differ much with shopping on brick and mortar. Have you noticed shop assistants recently? They plain ignore you and don't take queries seriously.

Same goes to online shops. Although, of course, not all of them are as such. Its generally speaking.

But what I'm saying here, culture and customer service do play direct role in business. Overseas know how to run online etiquette and since no personal contact, our interaction is limited to monitor and keyboard, which is more passive interaction. Unlike here where mobiles are the most preferred contact, which requires both parties to interact actively, ergo each party wants instant replies as if we have no other things to do besides to fulfil each other's needs until all errands completed.

And that, is troublesome.

Interesting Facebook Facts

Found this application on facebook.

My friends stats.

Here's some of the results of my facebook friends:
Female/Male:68% / 32%
Single/Taken:19% / 81%
Average age:27 years old

What astounds me is that the (tragically) huge gap on single and taken ratio.
hence no possibility for facebook romance now, eh? LOL
Does the average age of friends also shows how old you really are? FYI, i'm not 27 yo, but close enuf ;)

Interesting apps.

Space

When you're mature enough (age-wise), you really really need your own personal space. Like, a bedroom with locked door?

I'm desperately in need of one.

I know a year is more than enough whining, but its really difficult to adjust from living for yourself for 7 years to suddenly have to share everything with 4 other people in cramped room with no locked doors. By everything, I mean, ev.vry.thing. What u do when u wakeup, who you speak on the phone, what u speak on the phone, what you up to for the day, when you have to sleep, when you have to wake up, when you eat, when not to eat.

Its all about adjusting. Yes, it may be just that, but as you get older and once have that massive space to yourself.. You longed for that tiny hole where you can just succumb to your whatever your mind takes you. That, I do not have.

Lucky I have not yet go insane and poppin' pills.

Farah Quinn

Should I do intro first for Indonesian hottest TV chef or the name's a given?

Briefly, Farah Quinn. Chef on Ala Chef show in Trans TV. I have to admit, the lady can cook, but for her to be a 'chef', I'm no judge to that.

But that's not what made her huge in Indonesia. No. Her massive stardom was enhanced by another (err, two others?) enormous personal assets. Her boobs.

To other than female, her cooking talent is just a shadow.

Even the giant corporate in cyberspace agrees to that. Google wouldn't find anything mentioning her recipes or cooking!

Of all results on page 1 covering, yes, Her BOOBS!

I dunno if I should feel sorry for her since the nation don't seem to recognize her cooking talent but more appreciating her assets. Seriously, try googling her name. Or anything follows her name, be it her show 'ala chef' or 'resep'. Google will give you very little on recipes, the show, or cooking tips.

Oh, in case you're wondering why on earth I spent my time browsing farah quinn.. I was dying to find her pangsit goreng recipe! Of which I could not find. No surprise there.

Farah, honey, try not to use push-up bras or tighty-tights exposing on the center areas. Let's give those two for malls, clubs, or your hubby. Don't let them outshine your cooking.

Surprisingly, I like your dishes and would like to try them on my kitchen. Two massive problems, Your boobs prevent me to do so!!

Peachy!

Dunno if title really suits well.
Im just scribbling some random onto blog.

oh yeah, im finding blogging sexy again.
Twitter was just a quickie affair.

I find the latter is boring now. After a thousand and more tweets, I find nothing exhilirating anymore on twitter. Even some tweets im following no longer enthuse me.

Its understandable though, Twitter has been my fascinating boytoy, but blogger will always be my long time lover.
Too much? :D

Anyway!!!

Speaking of long time lover...
iTunes presents me with an old playlist full of tunes off of my gloomy nights at Southbank Royale. There I was, looking out the window and listening to these sounds:

You and Me by Lifehouse
Peachy by Missy Higgins
The hardest part by Coldplay
Give me Novacaine by Green day
Love will come through by Travis
Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
Love me like the world is ending by Ben Lee
Everybody's Changing by Keane

It was summer, the night breeze came in without knocking from an open window in front of my computer and me. The smell of southbank at night is so distinct I can still remember it. The night was so dark, yet apartment lights made acquintance with Kings Way lights from afar. I stared, and I stared. Worrying if one day to let all these go. I did let go and moving on.

I miss Southbank Royale. Sure it's that obvious!

Yeah, I could get attached to things way overboard, I got burnt out everytime change and moving on happened. Tell me something I don't know.

At least! I'm going back to my second home in mere month!
I'll be back to Melbourne!!
2 months is short time, but this time i'll have a chance for final farewell to the city that saved me.

Melbourne, I'm Coming!

Knowing the news, though don't make much of a fuss in media, an ignorant citizen as I am can't help but wonder...

His Highness' breeds are claiming Daddy's reign for a comeback?

Thinking if it were to come true, makes me shiver. Are we to run the circle of life? What comes down, must comes up again eventually?

Ah, ours the forsaken country. Outcry religion the loudest but powering liberty. 'Tis a try or punishment from the Almighty?

A country where garden of eden lies on earth. Since we're a tip from expulsion for being greedy and eyeing the forbidden fruit.

There are devil's breeds among us.

Kaskus.us

Entah mungkin krn bahasa2 gaulnya yg keep uptodate n gue gak mengerti sdikitpun, atau emg kaskusers as a whole itu sdh jadi private komunitas online yg besar.

Pastinya untuk user yang nawarin gue ipod touch, gue gak beli dari elo deh. Ditanya kok malah jawabannya bodoh2in gue, minta foto produk kok blgnya 'kondisinya ya sperti udah dikasi tau'. Jeeh! Ga bs ngejual ya mas? Imma seller, I know how I shd behave to requests. Come hither, I shall teach u a thing or two.

Kick Andy: Gigi & Slank

"Tak Semata Bernyanyi"
Tonight's topic on Kick Andy is Nationalism through Pop Culture, here it means, through music.

Indonesia's still celebrating its 64th Independence. The topic is to commemorate the Nation's anniversary.

Two biggest bands in Indonesia are joining Andy Noya to share their input for the Nation through Music. They are: Gigi and Slank.

Both bands have at one time made special albums with songs tickling 'politic and social issues'.

I won't blog about those issues for they need more research to support my (very) random thoughts. Instead, I will blog about these well-respected bands in Indonesia.

They have been in the industry far too long and each has its own massive followers. However, without disrespecting one or the other, I have just found out that lyric-wise, Slank is more subtle in verbosing their thoughts.

They made criticisms sounds cool by puns and witty words. Along came the music arrangements to support the words to be easy interpreted by audience.

Although understandable that with no intention to corner Gigi and their efforts to contribute to roaring nationalism and tickles 'the high emperors' bulging gut, their music first and foremost is pop-rock. Rage and anger arrangement. It does not work with puns and witty wisdoms. It works well by brutally shouts their thoughts without a tip of kindness (in words, that is).

They both have contribute a very meaningful means of Nationalism to Indonesia. Their music are eyeopener to Gen-Y (and now Z?) to appreciate a Country that these Y and Z were born and bred, with all its flaws.

Hats off to true musicians.

Although Gigi, we can all agree everyone can have their own preference, and I prefer you colleague, Slank.

Nothing personal, I'm just leaning more towards puns and witty.

Well done braders :)

Ps: cokelat also made appearance. Their 'Bendera' never fails to give me shivers.

Change

Over the years, I've finally made peace with myself. Schizilly is the media where my rants, thoughts, feelings, and desires are made obvious to people outside my circle. It was very dark.

Slowly that dark clouds lifted, and throbbing toothache of the mind has transformed into my true inner sanctum. My silent reverie...

Ok chillax peeps, I'm not going Marshanda on u. I almost was, years ago, but lucky youtube wasn't yet invented and I'm no near being a child celebrity. So you won't find any of me saying 'ini untuk temen2 sd gw yang udah jahatin gue'.

Change,
xx

Rant

Some people are just plain bitches.
I dunno why they so kepo.
I just don't.

Kerenina Sunny Halim

The newly elected Miss Indonesia 2009

Yes, I'm blogging pageant.

Miss. Kerenina Halim, is chosen to represent Indonesia this year to be the next Miss World 2009. Beauty-wise, she has very distinct Indonesian face, although genetically she's half American by her mother side.

Upon watching the final Miss Indonesia 2009 on TV, which happened few months ago, Ms. Kerenina was proven to show a calm, good presentation, spot-on answers and very native english. At this point, she's almost flawless as a finalist and believed will win without a doubt.

And she did.
However, her latter quality backfired.

Kerenina Sunny Halim, a 22 year old Indonesian delegated to represent the country Indonesia as Miss Indonesia in Miss World pageant, speaks broken Bahasa Indonesia and uses English as her native language.

She made news overseas bigger than the Miss World pageant itself.

Miss Indonesia pledges to master Indonesian
Wed, Jun 10 04:10 AM EDT

JAKARTA (Reuters Life!) - The winner of the Miss Indonesia beauty contest has pledged to brush up on her Indonesian language skills after raising eyebrows for answering the pageant judges' questions in English.
.....

"It's been hard for me to speak Indonesian, because I use English every day," she was quoted by the Jakarta Post newspaper as saying. "But I will learn."

One of her best trait has raised eyebrows amongst locals and people overseas. At a time when some other Indonesians are at their best effort to embrace and roaring Nationalism (re: #indonesiaunite), Memen Suprietmen justify Ms. Kerenina lack of Bahasa Indonesia on representing the country overseas as 'enough to get by'.

He (memen is a he, right?) said,
"For Bahasa Indonesia you need enough to get by. But these days, you need to be fluent in a foreign language, English at least," Memen Suprietmen said on a posting on Kompas.com.

Ms. Kerenina's best traits and Memen Surprietmen's comment made me wonder,
if they're few of the people who have the chance to make Indonesia known overseas for its true Identity, then what Identity Indonesia is to be seen by the world?

I was once embarrased and was slightly mocked by a Singaporean for not knowing anything about my country, even as simple as "whats the population in Jakarta?" I said 2 Million. (last I check, that was population for Melbourne). This gives you rough idea that a common civilian like I am know very little about our own country and apparently, our reps overseas also bearing the same knowledge.

I am ashamed to have been cornered by foreigner and that's still in Jakarta. Ms. Kerenina will represent us as a Nation to the world on foreign terrain, how would she then feel?

From what I know, beauty pageant is not just about looks and physique. It's also not about politics. Mostly what to represent is a country's social culture, is it not? Then Ms. Kerenina should at least know the answer to: how many population in Indonesia? without googling or phone a friend.

Although not to judge her further, I see a potential in her for being the next Miss World, or at least Top 5 finalists. Maybe that was the judges' consideration to crowned her Miss Indonesia, since we've never gotten the chance to actually win the world's biggest pageant. Maybe hey, Nina could actually got the crown for us this year.

If she does, don't matter if she know not of Bahasa Indonesia.
We got the crown, Indonesia is proud.

Will it be that easy?
Covering identity with pride.

Heck, how could I know the answer.
I even write this in english and don't even ask me to translate in proper Bahasa Indonesia, 'cause then I would not dare to have a blog.

Merdeka! atau Merdeka?

17 August 2009, Indonesia's celebrating its 64th Independence day.

The one day that most Indonesians are fired up for being Indonesian and nationalism is roaring. The one day, Indonesians gather as a nation and cheering. The one day, we put aside all sorrows and problems of a nation.

Media has played its part to embrace our freedom as a nation and bring nationalism into our heart and mind. They did a very well-done job.

However, when you browse through social media, you get the real thoughts of real Indonesians. As real as they are to have Indonesian blood in their veins, they may not yet be true Indonesian for having to say 'to think of we have the freedom, is a silly thought'.

Another said in simple words: "do we have freedom?"

I may not know a lot about my country and not be true nationalist, but one thing for sure that I know, We indeed have freedom.

Indonesia was reborn on 17 August 1945, 64 years ago.
For a country, Indonesia is still young. We're teenagers.
And you know how teens are and what their behaviours usually be.
Don't worry, when we mature, we'll toughen up and be wiser.

Til that day come, like most living things, we need to be nurtured and someone to look up to. We only get those from the elders, whom not always be right and wise, but give us views and experiences to act and execute wisely in the future.

Don't worry, we'll get there.
We'll get wiser, be better analyst, better executor, and thus better nation.
But don't say we have not yet free.

'Cause we are.

Happy Independence Indonesia.

If this kept going, twitter's fame will lengser soon. Other microblogging will keep up and eventually take over.

Twitter

Twitter got more fucked up lately. It got slower and slower each day. Smartphones applications sometimes made it easy to update twitter than using its primary website. Really a bad service for a booming social media.

Facebook can keep up with demands. Why can't u twitter?
Although twitter can be extremely addictive, but it lacks user service. Fulfilling user demands r something twitter has not yet able to do.

For now, users are pretty much cooped up in current tweet space with standard 140 characters and @reply function, which surprisingly are satisfied by these function. Much later, they must want something(s) more, as customers always do.

Twitter needs to crack skulls to enter new, engaging and creative additions to their media.

Easy tweets, More tweets.

So called Jihad

Indonesia just caught several terrorists the past week.
Some of them dead, some (hopefully) soon-to-be dead by death sentence.

Today, the news reported that one of the dead bodies was being rejected at several mortuaries. Although finally, there's one that accepted him.

You know what
If it were me, I'd say burn the body. That'll dissapear all evil within him.
Then toss it in a cave somewhere. Just toss. Like tossing rubbish.

That's what we should do if we ever killed the mastermind of all.

I feel sorry for the suicide martyrs. Esp the young ones. They're the lost children who had not found any hang-ons in the world. They may have thought religion is always harmless and that expressway to heaven exist.

While truth is for me that 'War on Terror' was and is actually happened between two powerful leaders. And the little ones who always pay with blood.

Its tiring and so political.

Kedu under siege!!!

For those not in the know, Kedu - Temanggung is the village currently on spotlight due to terrorist hideout which being barricade by Police. One of house in the village is believed the hide house for Noordin.

You can find that news anywhere, I'm sure.

This you may not find mushrooming.

Kedu is where I spent my childhood holidays! My uncle and fam live there. Often times I stayed 1-2 months at his house. I kno well enough the neighborhood. And now its being surrounded by gunshots noise and fear.

Strangely peculiar feeling crept up inside me when I watched on tv, the mosque I once visit to pray is now near the hideout house of a terrorist.

Can't help but wonder what my cousins feel after just realizing their neighbour is hiding a group of (allegedly) terrorists. Let alone if they're friends with them?!

Om gw di solo said 'kelamaan nggrebeknya. Keburu kabur ke gunung itu!' --- translate: my uncle in Solo said 'this Police bust takes too long, they might escape to the back hills!'

ALERT: 1000s of Twitter Accounts Compromised in Latest Spam Attack

August 5th, 2009 | by Ben Parr

Yesterday we noticed a strange occurrence on Twitter: hundreds, if not thousands of Twitter accounts were sending out spam links, all at once. Most of these accounts weren't your usual spam accounts, but regular Twitter users with real accounts, followers, and tweets. Then, the flood suddenly stopped.

We wondered if it was just a strange group of accounts or a one-time attack. Now we're fairly certain that isn't the case. Thousands of compromised Twitter accounts are sending out waves of spam throughout the Twitterverse. The tweets are coming hard, hundreds per minute. Here is a sampling of what's going on:

We aren't sure as to the exact cause. It seems to come in waves, and then it stops. It could be a compromised 3rd party application. It could be an old phishing scam or even the more recent TwitViewer scam. We have emailed Twitter about the issue.

Regardless, if you believe your account is compromised, immediately change your password! In addition, do not visit any of these websites – they can compromise your account further (or worse).

We will keep you updated as we learn more about the situation.

This explains my Suspended Account on Twitter.

Recently tonight Twitter was down for many hours (mine is yet accessible), while according to Mashable twitter has been stable this year compared to 2007 and 2008.

Then I suddenly consider a friend's view of a local hacker that made these happened. Think about it, only this year Indonesia is flooded with twitter fad. We also know Indonesians are brill on IT, but they're bored and has no media to venture their skills, hence toying with public media. What to become of them? Showing off to recent Internet fad.

Twitter is now one of the fad and after become avid users for few months, I noticed the easy access for bots, phishing, and scams to enter. To these brilliant IT geeks this screams - Hey, why not make chaos?

I woke up this morning, coughing. And all that popped in mind was, my heart was drowning. (So csi and house!)
Then I imagined 13, kutner, foreman inject me with some needle to my chest and take out some of liquid that drowns me.

Oh god! Paranoia or excessive tv consumption, u reckon? XD

@CTinsert

Briefly watched @inserttranstv ending. Man, @ctinsert is skin-neeh! Like a pencil. And she loves to get sandwiched! Waving and clapping dance.

Kyle sandilands

Nothing ever made my day as much as Todays reading on rss feed the Australian Media.

Here whatsit say:

"THE pressure is on Ten to dump Kyle Sandilands from Australian Idol after his radio show was pulled from the airwaves last night.

Whether he will be dropped for the remainder of the season will be announced tomorrow.

Network sources said he was "disposable" because producers were looking at including more guest judges this year alongside Ian "Dicko" Dickson and Marcia Hines, and because his disastrous hosting of Big Brother last year had damaged his TV stocks."

Haven't I mentioned gazillion times before, He's a douche?????? Why nobody listens, is beyond me.
Told u so, Told u so *dancing*

As for Ten and Austereo: DUMP HIM!!
DUMPDUMPDUMPDUMP

Aahh if my twitter is on I'm so trending topic this! x(

back to the ole blog

Twitter got suspended!
WRONGLY suspended

some asshole hacked into my twitter account and post spam using my username.
that bitch posted this "notleia Hey evry1, peep http://googleboss.org ! ez way to make some extra cash! about 5 hours ago from web"

THAT WASNT ME!!
I logged out 6 hours ago.
That tweet was made an hour after i logged out! HOW DID THIS HAPPENED??
i shouldve known, at least suspect that twitter is not safe.
Spammers are everywhere and no valid protection.

Heck my followers are more than 50% are spammers!
For safety twitter should be made private. but i have twitter-exhibitionist personality dissorder (yes, i made that up), it simply defines that I want twitterverse to read my tweets!

I've contacted Twitter Support 3 times since I tried to log in to my account.
I only got this automatic reply saying if i mightve mistakenly login to the wrong account (the suspended acc and not my own). I MEAN, PLEASE!!!! who'd be that dumb?

After the third try, I finally got note on twitter support page that my request is assigned to support staff. Pheew! relief. But waiting the response would be a killer. As i did for eBay response. Garrgghh

Oh, few mins ago, I got this pop-up browser asking username and password authentication from twitter. it says reason "Twitter API".
Whats that? i was too afraid to provide my data, but what if it's real from support tech? or was it the spammer?
AAHHHH no safe no safe.

Pornography

Indonesia is the 7th largest nation for Porn sites and Government prioritized limit views on youtube?!?!

How reasonable.

Indonesia

This what one of Giant Corporates has to say about Indonesia on the web:

" The country is abundantly rich in natural resources including oil, gas, coal, copper, tin, gold, rubber and timber, as well as palm oil, tea and coffee."

There are 11 sources for us to be entirely Rich as a nation. But where are these wealth washed away to? When the lives of billions still live in massive poverty.

We should have bentley as Taxis. Skycrapers with sky as the limit. Man, we could be Saudi Arabia and much more!

But why are we not??

maybe that I am insensitive.
maybe the whole service was undignified.
or was it pure peculiarity as the Man was.

be it as it was, Michael Jackson's Memorial Service at the Staples Centre Los Angeles was the spotlight of the world. The life that Michael was.

I read off of somewhere, a friend of Michael said "It's pretty weird saying goodbye to a friend at a place like this (the staples centre)". But to the world, that was the only media we could ever really farewelled to Michael.

be it day or night, or break of dawn. The whole world was watching.
Hats off, King!

"In the austere postwar years, mankind needed something to bring peace and happiness to the planet once more. That thing was the bikini. Its perfection of form and function ensured that once again, mankind was united in a single thought: phwoar! — possibly the greatest enjoyment-giving invention of the 20th century."

Michael Bay and Transformers

Paul Byrnes says it better.
Lovin' the review!
and yet, so true.

"Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) is the Earth boy who holds the secret that will tip the balance in their fight . . . and who dreams this stuff up? Why are the plots of these movies usually so similar and so dull? The formula is A versus B plus powerful talisman held by C, usually a human boy or girl of destiny. The rest is just chasing and fighting. This series also throws in comedy and booty, in the form of Megan Fox. Mikaela Banes (Fox) is Sam's girlfriend and she's a mega babe. In fact, she's so hot the director fashions the film around endless views of her assets, to the point that it's somewhere between funny and creepy. For our first view he drapes her in short shorts over a motorcycle, like she's posing for a biker calendar. Her pouty lips are brilliant red, her eyes a deep blue. There's a lot more cheesecake, including a series of shots in the final battle of her running towards the camera in slow motion, her breasts dancing inside her skimpy top in a way that excludes everything else in the shot.
...

I realise that these are small things but they illustrate what's wrong in a wider sense. A lot of people put a great deal of effort into this movie to create great effects and exciting action but the whole thing is led by a man who directs by numbers. Michael Bay thinks that movies are a sandbox and, to some extent, they are. The trick is to create something meaningful from the tools in the sandbox. The first film did that; the second is a sandy imitation."

The impression of Megan Fox when I was watching the movie was well quoted by a toddler not older than 4 yo.
The scene in Egypt where Megan and Shia snuggling on top of Egypt ancient pyramid(?) and she wore only her camisole. The kid next to me suddenly said "yah, gak pake baju lagi deh" (not wearing clothes again).

Just then I realized, for movie about Robots, Transformers 2 isn't made for kiddies at ALL. Especially, with full-on Megan Fox posing for Maxim on every scene.

Though not my usual cuppa tea, I have to admit, the movie was very entertaining. The blowing things up and Shia LaBeouf.

Way to go to respectfully back out being Manohara's legal advocate.

No point to ruin your reputation by this media-crave Cinderella.

Manohara overrated, Prita unjusticed, Obama is the Man!

Wow too many things!

Although the first issue wasn't too much of a big deal to discuss thoroughly. But let's begin:

Manohara
Who she is and what she is, other news and blogs have told her story. The media has raised her. Underaged girl married by a man almost twice her age (albeit His Highness label). All of these incidents (her being wed, allegedly abused, and voilated human rights) are caused by one person, her MOM!

By not gave away her daughter to be wed at young age and not without dating the prospect husband, Manohara's would just be an aspiring model and socialite in Jakarta. But of course, that wouldn't take her to this overwhelming spotlight (and account balance higher than being cik puan). Which socialite wouldn't want that? The Price of an allegedly abused Cinderella.

Prita Mulyasari
A real fact to Indonesia's freedom of speech (or lackthereof). Customer service works only as label here. Hence our complaints made impact only by word of mouth (or viral mails). But alas, this is also being butchered by Money and Power.

Can someone justify UU ITE? What's our rights for freedom of speech? Complaints are not taken seriously here. Regardless the future conviction, the news is out and no matter what, the said Hospital has lost it's respected image. Regardless the doctor whom responsible might be sacked, the Hospital still needs to recover it's image.

People go to doctors and hospital based on trust. And this Hospital has lost the people's trust, thus redeeming it will be huge effort.

Obama
Hehehe politik ceunah. Nonton youtube aja yah...
He's good. The pattern of his speech is ascelating.. Not at all agressive and dominant, but still at the end of the day is still roaming Power of the US of A. Quoting Al-Quran on his speech is prolly the first US President that had ever done that!

Salut.

Miss Indonesia pageant

The most hillarious of all the options of being labelled one of the 'Miss'es in the pageant is.... Miss Tubuh Sehat (Miss healthy body?)

Is that something you can be proud of on winning something from a beauty pageant??

One or the other

John Travolta once said, life is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Since the beginning of adulthood, we have been faced by many choices. The decision of which would bring many kinds of consequences. Good or Bad. What we want or the opposite.

"OR"
always make an appearance in whatever options lay upon us.

I was recently struck with options "iPhone OR BlackBerry". As trivial as that.

Bigger dilemma occurred between Uni Melbourne OR Monash?
For good OR staying abroad?
Family OR Independence?

A friend taught me to make a list of pros and cons of each options in front of me. Then the decision will be made by a complete considerations. Whatever decision and the future outcome be... There never was a wrong journey. The 'What Ifs' will always be there. But this journey is made by learning from mistakes.

The One I took couldn't be much more worse than The Other that I could've taken.
The option is only The One OR The Other. Either way, both are already under your consideration.

Either way, you're walking this path off of the decision you made between the OR.

It's true. Life IS stranger than fiction.

Blackberry Curve

So.
Tell me this

If you already have a 3G mobile, why would on earth people switch that to a 2G just because it's labeled Blackberry?

If you wanna go Blackberry whilst mobile on hand has 3G, then switch that with Bold. I don't get people who downgrade technology just to after the 'it' label. I wouldn't.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Curve don't have 3G, do they?

So.
Getting into the 'it' circle is fine. Getting Blackberry to get into the 'it' circle, is by all means your own interest.
However!
Don't go Curve just because they're "affordable" Blackberry whilst you own a swanky 3G by other brands.
If you wanna go Blackberry, go Bold.

Want candy?

Just something random in mind.

Remember not long ago when in supermarkets, customers never get the small change in coins instead the checkout staff will give us candies in return? Ever thought why?
If you think because there's not enough change to give since we only have even amount for Rupiahs available, think again.

What about countries using "cent". They round them up so they get to the nearest smallest currency available in their country. Why don't we round up every sum to the nearest smallest amount we have in Rupiah.

Although I do realized the logic behind it. Since sadly enough, Indonesia doesn't have singles in Rupiah. Hence for every tenths Rupiah, we get candies. The accumulated tenths shall be the 'tip' we voluntarily give to retailers.

I don't mind the extra tip for few tenths Rupiah.
But I do wonder though, Why Candy?
When did it start? Candy in replacement for small change.
Are there any other countries that giveaway candy for change like we do?

edit:
Supermarkets have round up the amount and don't give us candy in return.
but I yet to get the answer to why they did what they did.

Bergdorf Blondes

"There are other things in life apart from finding a man to think about," I said, exasperated. (Like most other girls in New York, I have to confess on the very, very q-t that is all we think about 95 percent of the time. We just don't admit it in public. It's way more acceptable to say you worry about your career all the time. Although I generally find the more career a girl has, the more man she thinks about.)"

Jason Mraz and Java Jazz

My 2nd Java Jazz after Jamie Cullum's Java Jazz in 2007.
This time round, my target is Jason Mraz. Luckily I don't need to spend thousands of dollars to get to see him! Unlike the previous encounter with Jamie where I had to fly back home from Melbourne just to see him live, and boy that was worth every dime!

My first impression of Java Jazz back then does not change for this year as well.

Java JAZZ, the event should already speaks for itself. The biggest JAZZ event ever held in Indonesia! (can i say, entire asia?)
However, as time goes by, it becomes a mix of pop-ish tune mesh with contemporary jazz. This, to attract more and more crowd from the youngest to mature audience. What do we get?

The real Jazz aficionados are only glimpse to the eyes can see. Some of the chic and clueless figures are there to celebrate the biggest event, whom target the mid to higher society. This is the place to see and be seen! not necessarily for the Jazz itself.

This year's most awaited special show is Jason Mraz.
He took almost half the exhibition hall just to himself and his crowd (which were crazy massive!!!). Java Jazz 2009 was his first performance in Indonesia.

As I have observed from few concerts I went in Jakarta and Melbourne, the differences are too obvious. Firstly, here in Indonesia we tend to take our cameras out for the entire show and record every bit of the concert into our tiny cam for documentation instead of dance and enjoy the live music. Then, we tend to sing! ALL and LOUD.
Musicians would be so pleased if the crowd are too enthusiastic to their music and leave all the singing to the crowd. Well, they may be pleased, but I'm not!!!! I went to concerts to hear them sing live! not to hear all those high pitch crowd noises sing!

To that extent, you should've seen the cheeky smile of Mr. Mraz the entire night. He must've been too shocked to realize how big he is in Indonesia. When crowd started to sing the entire song, he just showed his cheeky smile. I wish I captured that moment on my small pocket cam. How unfortunate from where I stood I could only see him on stage with his head only as big as green peas!

Jason Mraz at Java Jazz is as spectacular as you can get for a music festival. The inconvenience was top-notch. He cured it a bit. Live high wasn't on the song list, but butterfly was saved for the last. The show took about 1.5 hours at most. Getting in the concert hall was a tremendous effort, getting out was more effort! the crowd, like I said, was beyond imaginable!

After Jason, we get to watch Joeniar Arief, a local RnB boy with the hit number "rapuh". Listening to slightly Pop-ish RnB made me uncomfortable. I felt like a hypocrite to Jazz. So next we went to Humania, slightly jazzy, but they were good for local. The crowd I can't cope. Too much in such small room. The finale for the night for me was Matt Bianco!! Awesome.
Again, too much crowd the inconvenience was overbearing. My foot couldn't take it no longer and only enjoyed a couple songs. Then on the out stage, a friend took the final glimpse of Vidi, an uprising young local RnB. He was good and I would listen to him intently if he wasnt in Java Jazz. Afterward, off we farewell Java Jazz.

Next year Java Musikindo should expand the location. JACC couldn't hold such massive crowd any longer.

It doesn't represent Jazz enthusiast entirely, since...
Java Jazz is the Party for All.

Javanese traditions

I have realized a few traditions from my ancestral root.

1. Javanese likes sweet culinary, that's common news. However, did you know... serving tea also has its customary. Tea with a lot of sugar is considered honoring the guest, without or less of it would means being disrespectful and sorry to say, gives indication of being less fortunate. Therefore, if you ever visit surrounding mid-java (jawa tengah) for a long period of time, you'd come back with massive sugar rush. *Lol

2. After yesterday's funeral, I came about a tradition of part mid-java that is too interesting to be missed.
Did you know... when men died, women can't attend the burial (not sure if family included in this customary or not). However, when women died, men are allowed to attend and assist the process. I can't understand the logic in this.

3. I had conversation with a colleague one time, she said from her tradition root, it's unordinary to have soon-to-be mother-in-law to shop everything for seserahan (groom giveaway items). Whilst, for javanese, the mother-in-law-to-be is in control of everything to be given to the bride (some may without any prior agreement with the bride or her wants). Mothers are selfish that way sometimes, when giving away their kids.

Update later after further observations.. :)

mourning month

Innalillahi Wa inna illahi Raji'un

Maybe it's God's will. It IS God's will.
Yet I kept thinking "Why?"

Seminggu ini orang-orang terdekat gue terima berita duka.

Seminggu lalu, hari minggu pagi, salah satu sahabat gue harus melepaskan ayahnya.
Eyang putri gue meninggalkan kita semua selama-lamanya, 2 hari kemudian.
Jumat lalu, Ayahnya seorang sahabat terdekat tante gue (yang udah seperti keluarga juga), juga menghebuskan nafasnya terakhir kali.
Semalam, Ayah kakak ipar gue meninggalkan kita selama-lamanya.

semua ini terjadi dalam seminggu.
Maybe God has a plan.

One thing I couldn't comprehend, the last time I met eyang putri was 4 days before her passing. We usually don't meet up aside from family gatherings, however, this time we met under unsual coincidence. On a sale day at Metro! how surprising that was. The last time I met her, we shared hugs and kisses. Unknowingly, that was for the last time. Maybe God has planned that randeszvous for us to be parted the last time.

Temen gue bilang, gak usah sugesti-sugestian. Can't help but wonder though... What is it with the month February and March 2009? Was there a meaning behind this mourning month?

Australia and Indonesia

One of those articles defining the relationship between Australia and Indonesia. A country which Aussie always claim to be a threat due to high level of terrorist attack.

The travel warning has been going on for years.
Surprisingly, I discovered from The Age which reported a new visa for Australians to have their "opportunity" to work and holidaying in Indonesia (Allard, 2009). The works will be pretty much the same as "Work USA" program, I suppose.

Oh, No no no. don't get too psyched about this new visa to be one of the supports for "visit Indonesia" program. Australian diplomats are still quite paranoid to "over-protect" their citizens, by keeping Indonesia as the runner-up in their Travel Warning list.

Given their new visa policy... this, I would say, a very oxymoronic political agenda.
The contradiction is perceived as "Australians walk and chew gum at the same time" said Senator Evans.

I don't know if I should be offended or diplomatic about it.
To my understanding, if I may do the math... it might goes into equations as follows:

New visa + travel warning = Walk + Chew Gum = Australia + Indonesia

on which variable does Indonesia should stand that wouldn't delineate us as inferior?

She teams up with designers Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger, and Calvin Klein to name a few, she splurge the most extravagant night of any leggy blonde dolls could ever dream of. FASHION WEEK IN NEW YORK!

And Barbie delivers as that. Her 50th is celebrated by none other than being classy and fabulous as she always been.

Like Disney, Barbie has survived the years to become the legend in her industry.
Barbie has become the endless legacy for all girls in the world.
Her years will never be long forgotten.

Happy 50th to all Barbie dolls!

I wonder how old is Ken?
Come to think of it, Barbie is so Demi Moore.
Having Ken as her Ashton. ;)

Trip to Indonesian neighbors

The trip began on 14 February 2009 to 18 February 2009. 3 singles pulled up our backpacks and left on the early morning of pink-mockery day.

Yes. We're escaping Mr. Valentine.
or at least, that's what I told people back home. ;)

The day begun very early. 6 AM we rushed to Soekarno-Hatta airport to catch the 7.50 AM Airasia to Batam. We're told we could save few hundred bucks by transit in Batam before ferrying to Singapore's Harborfront. Reached Harborfront around 11 AM, planned to catch the 11ish ferry, but too damn late so we took the 1ish PM ferry.

That too was canceled. Why?
Immigration problem happened.
One of my traveling partners had issue with her immigration stamp back to her last trip to hongkong. Apparently, the immigration officer at Soekarno Hatta missed a returning stamp on her passport when she got back from Hongkong in 2008. Immigration at Batam made a fuss of it. Hence our next ferry to Singapore around 2ish PM.

Arrived at People's Park apartment in Singapore's chinatown for a night stay around 5 PM. Exhausted.
but the trip is still young so we decided to browse few suburbs in singapore just to find, shopping strips (Mustafa Centre and Bugis Junction). That night was VALENTINE'S NIGHT.

Couples are around and follow tradition to celebrate.
One cute thing I noticed when walking around the MRT stations and streets of Bugis, I saw couples wore the same color tshirts. Including the older couples. too adorable! Roses and chocolates, we've seen everywhere. But a pile of roses arranged in a bucket carried by men, is one image i couldn't let it out of my sight. Maybe they're selling those roses, who knows. However, back in Indonesia, we wouldn't see those men carrying a pretty bucket filled with pretty roses walking around the street.

It's interesting to get a different view of Valentine's Day celebration in different country.

And.. did you know..
There are no rubbish bin inside the MRT station?? in fact, rubbish bins are not scattered around the city as many as I've seen in Melb. It is that difficult to find rubbish bin in Singapore. Maybe the locals have high conscious on littering publicly, hence they never have any rubbish on them? that I still wonder..

Did you also know...
Asian Hooters has different standard for their girls. As asians are famous for being petite in size, so are the busts. Hooters' girls can be hella sexy in their skimpy uniform, but under that tight tank top was no Pamela Anderson. I'm starting to believe maybe Hooters is adjusting to size standards in every continent. hmmm...

The next day we went to Malaysia by Airasia departed from Changi Airport to LCCT Malaysia. Arrived at our hotel - Tunehotel - quite late in the afternoon. You have no idea how psyched I am to find hot water shower in that hotel! It's also the first kinky room i've encountered for a pretty standard hotel. What I meant by kinky is because the design is really unique, I love it! It's small, but comfortable.

That night we only went to Petronas Twin Tower and KLCC. We didn't take many photos. In fact, throughout our trip in Malaysia (for a full 3 days) I didn't take as many fotos as I took during 1.5 days trip in Singapore!

The second night on our way back to the hotel, while waiting for the monorail we saw a pretty dolled-up lady. Short mini skirt, high heels, really tight stretchy top, full-on make up. We boarded the same monorail, she sat across where we stood. Far across her seat, there were two butch good-looking men. Staring at her, as if she was the desert for the night. Although, to a friend's observation, she wonders if the lady is a tranny. Why: she thinks - the make up is too thick for a lady, the blush is too red, the way she acts powdering her cheeks every second is not the way a normal lady would behave. The butch men prolly also wondering the same thing, we wondered. It's a pretty insightful night - wondering if we've just encountered a tranny on a train. ;)

Honestly, that was my first trip ever to Malaysia.
no offense, but I hated it. The Country.

I'm expecting one level down from Singapore.
heck I was wrong!
It was a mere half level up from Jakarta!

I dunno where to begin.
The people at train/bus stations are as creepy as the ones in train/bus stations in Jakarta.
The taxis don't have meter! - and I got ripped off. Twice!
People stare!

I don't mind the other two, but taxis don't have meter?!?!?! man, what year are they living in??????????

Of all places I've come across while traveling, Malaysia (or Kuala Lumpur) is the only place I can't wait to get away from. My 3 days trip there was full of agitation on returning home (or at least back to singapore!). I don't think I can digest Teh Tarik that well too. Had major stomachache while I'm in malaysia. Back in Singapore, I had no such ache. Their Nasi Lemak is also overrated! I'm expecting rice full of exotic flavors and engaging sidedishes. WRONG! the rice is plain as steamed rice, the side dishes, you have to ask for extra for the mouth-watering sides (rendang, chicken, etc). A RM6 Nasi Lemak in Malaysia doesn't come in complete package. I was too dissapointed.

The positive side of this trip was I get to taste the asian delicacy I used to have in Melbourne. The indian food (prata, naan, and dosai), the vietnamese rice noodle, fish ball noodle and flavored chicken rice with broth soup! The asian culinary I grew accustomed to while in Melbourne. YUMM!

On the 18th, our journey back to Jakarta was the same.
Taking it easy on Airasia delays, we took the late ferry to Batam. Only to find, our flight was strangely ON TIME and we could no longer check-in to our flight! That was 15 mins prior departure!!! Enough time for us to do final check-in for other Airlines. but NOOOOOOO, not for Airasia with their "strict policy" of 45 minutes check-in prior departure. When usually, they could comfortably push back our flights to an hour or two without prior notice and left us numbingly bored in the airport lounge. And THAT, without any sincere apologies from their ground or air flight attendants!

Airasia surely can be proud that 'everyone now can fly', but that extra cost fall into their customer service, which obviously lack thereof.

One of my travel partners said "Yes, it was our mistake to be late for check-in, we cannot blame the ground staff too. Airasia is just a small airline and we pay cheap, they won't consider good customer service into that price. You want customer service, Garuda or Singapore Airlines has it because service charge is included in the ticket".

It's true.
Service is costly.

We ended up getting a ticket with Lion Air to go back to Jakarta.
A friend got cranky for the extra hundreds rupiah for another ticket, while the other seems more mature on handling the situation. And me? Well, I constantly grumble when getting another ticket, but then, I took this as another 'unexpected' experience while traveling. A lesson to learn.
especially one where you CANNOT be late for check-in.

at least, i can cross off the two countries for traveling destinations.
Bye Malaysia and Singapore. Won't visit you anytime soon! :)

Joshua Radin

I found a new star in town
Joshua Radin

I've known him since paperweight with Schuyler fisk and starmile video directed by the one and only Mr. Zach Braff.

Both maybe are still rated B in Hollywood. but even John Mayer and Brad Pitt are off the list when compared to the duo.

Even Ellen loves Joshua!

Joshua's music calms you. It can bring you at a peace of mind, without care to the world.
it is that comforting.

have a listen.
tell me what you think. :)
