sudden thought

it seems i'm walking in distance. Just swaying with the wind, no obvious destination.
suddenly I thought it'd be good to shift place to a quiet town somewhere in the newzies. is it the act of running away from reality? this time so secluded no one would find me?
hm.. perhaps not.
Just need a new breathe of air. Someplace I'd know no-one.
Uh-well, just a thought.

Be the change you want

A Quote famously remarked by Gandhi. I got it from the book Don't think of an Elephant. It's pretty self-explanatory, u reckon?

Thats not what this is about.
Nah. Nothing relate to whatever Gandhi has said actually. I just want to put it here. somewhere in the posting. :p

Anyhoo, I did it.
I called my super and told her I have to cancelled today's shift. She was pretty upset about it since she had to find another person to cover that shift. Well, I know, stupid me to accept the shift at first place. I felt pretty bad afterwards, but then I tried not to be bothered by it. Off I go to see a friend and had lunch. 3rd time in a week I ate Indian food. Come to think of it, prolly it has something to do with what I'm about to tell you later.. hmm, coincidence perhaps?

After we had our lunch at some Indian place, not thatta good curries I reckon. We then off to Art Gallery to have a look-see on Picasso's Love & War. Tell you the truth, his work is beyond. Beyond my brain, that is! Couldn't understand one bit. Gah. So much of being artsy-wannabe, eh?

We walked around the gallery for a good 1.5 hours and say, enough. The only thing I get from the exhibition was the love story of Picasso's life. The exhibition is about his personal life. There were artworks of Dora Maar as well, who was his lover and confidant for almost nine years. I googled Picasso, and my my, he had quite a lot of missus and mistresses. Few legitimate sons and daughters too. Prolly people wouldn't expose his illegitimate ones. hehe. That's the love theme, whereas the war theme seems about all the piece made during the spanish civil war he had to experienced (or runaway from). A masterpiece of Guernica is also presented, in which documented from beginning of production til the end by Dora Maar. NGV has one area specifically set up for Guernica and Maar's documentation work. Although of course, before googling, I wouldnt know any of this. :)

Pff anyway, his work is out of my league. (obviously duh!)

Done with picasso.. we took a stroll down to southgate and decided to get some takeaways dinner and large juice. We then said our goodbyes and I walked home with opposite directions as the others. There he was. our eyes locked in together. Sounds cheesy eh? but true though. There he was. An old fling. Someone from the past. The unknown other. Well, I think that was him. Hehe. How long it's been? 2-3 years since we last met? Yet we never know each other's name. How bizarre. But it kinda lightens my day today. Just the thought of meeting him again. Although, I wasnt sure but at least the thought that counts. Hehe.. He put a smile on my face. This is what I thought was the coincidence I mentioned earlier. If you can put the pieces together, if you'd know what I mean.

Ah lamo!! *grin*

and here I am, post once again about the unknown dude. what can be more lame than this?

ugh!

got called from work, asked to cover a shift from 3-8 this arvo.
I said OK. but prolly will cancel.
So not in the mood for work this week.
Hope if I cancelled I wont get the grudge from others at work.
Uhh.. nerve-wrecking.

sunday rain

It's sunday today. Been busy inside the apartment. Fixed the computer, or almost fixed. Cooked seafood chowder.. and thankfully, it tastes good. Surprise, Surprise.

It's time to clean up the closet and all clothes scattered on my bed. Yet, there's time for a quick posting. :p

I had a dream last night. Can't really remember much, but surely know there's my cousin there. It's been a while since we talk. Wonder how she doing with the family? Yes, my two dearest cousins are all married. One's with almost a year-old baby boy, the other expecting in due time. Things do change, huh? I remember the times when she smsed me during her lunch hours or other times when she was doing nothing at home. She now left home to be in another home of her own. I miss Us. but hey, things changed. I shud bear with that.

anyhoo, i've not worked for 2 weeks now. They called yesterday, missed it. Dint call back. Hope not gonna get sacked next week.

Been going to the cinema these past few days.
Watched the superhero Mr. Man returns to town and also Capt'n Sparrow comeback for another odd fight. The cinematic events end with a cheeky superhero flick, Ms. Thurman as the Super ex-girlfriend. Seriously damaged for your brain, I'd say. Bizarrely done for a kill bill's swordsman (err, women?). Not fun nor deliriously entertaining.

iTunes non-stop playing Queen Don't stop me now, Survivor eye of the tiger, Gnarls barkley crazy, Jennifer page stranden and Diana Degarmo emotional. I'm in the mood for the 80s. Bring back childhood memories. I remember felt all tingly about the dude from karate kid. Experienced the hype of Stalone's Rocky. In time, also feeling faraway from civilization.. stranden in silent space while people are around. Thus the songs suit me well.

Suddenly, I'm feeling empty. without a cause.
Wonder why.

solitude

A place with no mass noises, jam-packed traffic, blazzin' horns, and intense drama.
I save you a seat next to mine.
We'll have our own solitude island.
Me, you, and the air that we breath.
Ain't life a bliss?

Aotearoa classics

Slight history reviews on the Kiwis. Aotearoa is Maori for NZ. It means the land of the long white cloud. Maori is the indigeneous tribe of NZ. Their ancestors are presumably came from Hawaii long before the Europeans came shore to NZ. Hence, the nativity claim for the Maories.

The South Island is like a secluded island, it's almost intoxicating. The place is surrounded with the Southern Alps and in winter, nothing can top the views! Well, some said it's somewhat similar with the hills and mountains in Wales, Ireland, and even Swedes. Due to my lack of travelling, I jes nod and ooh-ahhs when they began to do comparisons. LOL.

What interest me most was the fact that this one european country still hold greatly its' country indigenous culture. It's so bizarre, it's almost shocking! (in a good way kinda thing). A word in Maori, Kia Ora (red: keeora) means greetings. We went to Ko Tane performance, which basically the maori culture's performance of dances, singing, and traditional powhiri (greeting). There's no word to describe the beauty of their singing and dances. It's simply sensational!

On our last day tour, we were taken to this west side of south island called Hokitika where we know about the greenstone or pounamu. It's a jadelike stone, I suppose. There are alot of pounamu with maori carvings on it, with many different hidden meanings from each symbol. Although most of them prolly more interesting for the ladies since the pounamu is made into neck pendants.

Hokitika is just a small township on the west side near the tasman sea. Whereas 2-3 hours from the town we'd find Christchurch. The biggest city in the south island, the 2nd biggest in NZ. You'd expect to see the crazy metro city such as in Jakarta, Sydney or Melbourne, wudnt ya? WRONG! The city is crammed with nothingness, silent noises and eerie darkness at night. It's a dead city, literally. I almost die of excitement to find KFC and Mickey-Dee there! LOL the multinational corporates don't really nail the country do they? Almost as if it's the developed country who is isolated from the big brothers. you know what i mean?

Queenstown is another slightly bigger township in south island. It's the vacation town! Almost like Queensland but remove the beach and replace it with mountains and lakes. They said bungy is A-MUST! LOTR tour is FAMOUS! Skydiving must be on TO-DO LIST! Unfortunately, out of three, I did only the middle. LOL. Skydiving is cancelled due to unpredictable weather. There's always an option of Fly by Wire, which you don't need the mental prep prior the fly. It's unlike skydiving or Bungy. It's more on the fun side. You'd be flying a plane-ish. =D

Why I said Bungy is a must... cos there are options that slightly like bungy, called swings. Instead of just jumping to your death, this time it includes swinging... you know, for fun sake. The height is pretty much the same as the bungy. Oh again, when you think of bungy jumping, think jumping off a cliff. Cos thats what exactly you'd be doing in NZ. Jumping from a bridge above Kawarau river, jumping off the ledge of a hill where you need a gondola to go up there but going down you'd be jumping, and the last one is the nevis bungy. It's the ultimate bungy challenge! Actually, I dunno how it looks like. LOL. but Paul (hehe) said the trip to the nevis takes long hours and already an experience itself. Can't imagine go for nevis! *shivers*

But all in all, Q-town is the place for scenery, adrenalin-fuelled adventures, snow-lovin sports, and LOTR fans.

Out of curiousity, wonder why the tourists townships always start with the word QUEEN? Aussie has its own QUEENSland and NZ has QUEENStown. coincidence?

The difference was the night life. Night life in Q-town is pretty much like in Christchurch. Dead. Not totally though, since they have bars and pubs in the city. But hey, still no night life for me, then? *sigh*

I still love the town though. Don't mind going there for drop offs 12,000 ft, you know, for tackling fear sake.

Next destination: Queenstown, NZ.
Sweet As!

O-host Swiney!

On second thought, there's no mood to tell stories about NZ. It'll be pages long and I'm really not up for it now. Prolly later, we'll see.

Anyhoo, I did the Orientation host today at Uni. It's loads fun! luvin it! Althou I came wee bit late (haha). the other O-host students are awesome. There's this lumayan dude named Alex! *grin* He's pretty cool. (I sound like miss. Enjel-Bi! *GOD!*) He's in the multimedia games development course, cool eh? I jes found out that Swiney has loads of majors in the Multimedia course itself. If I knew I'd go for multimedia and business marketing instead of jes plain marketing. Bah!

Met many new people today. Not complaining but if the events were fully coordinated rather than go here and there also various of prompt changes, I mightve know more people than I did today. I din suppose to take the campus tour, but they need more people, so I gotta go. Heck, I din even know the campus that well! So ended up with me being part of the new students instead of the hosts! LOL.

I din regret joining the O-host at all. Instead, I might go earlier than my actual roster tomoro. So might have more times with Alex? *HALAH!*

Oh good news, I jes checked email and Alhamdulillah got a follow up interview for the myer job thing. It'll be on August, so there's time. Hopefully, I'll nail the interview then more cash for me to go on holiday again. LOL.

Seriously, my bank account starts to drop down in fast speed! I jes paid Uni fee and spent way too much in NZ. So it's pretty sad to see the ending balance in my account. *Sigh*

All in all, I can't wait for tomoro!

Don't Stop Me Now

I'm a shooting star leaping through the skies
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go go go
There's no stopping me

Been a while since my last entry, innit?
I've been away to New Zealand for the past 10 days. Still havent got the mojo to write anything about it yet. But lemme jes say.. NZ is a gorgeous country! I can't believe that it's jes next to this dry continent of ours, Australia. Winter time in NZ is unbelievable! Spectacular snow-capped mountains with melted ice glaciers lakes. It's almost an absolute magical!

I called it the virgin island. It's untouched.
It'd be nice to forever deserted in South Island, NZ.

Oh, if anyone's wondering whats with the Queen's Dont stop me now lyric. It's THE song for the past 7 days tour! Mbak Sophie -our Contiki's tour manager- played the song every morning throughout our tour. The song really stuck in my head, but it gives the boost out of me every morning. Thats the good side out of it, I reckon. It really catches on quick! You'll see.

Anyway, I can't wait to go back to Queenstown NZ for summer! Fingers cross, I have the needed cash by that time :)
Dee, come along?

ps: 10 days away from metro cities and those the known others really shut down the updates in life. When finally got connected with Internet once again, I found all the buzz about our lovely miss. Indonesia Nadine Chandrawinata's almost dissapointing interview for the miss. Universe pageant. It came to be a massive shock to notice her broken english convos. I mean cmon, Indo accent is totally forgivable, but to have huge disconstructive speech as she did on the interview, it's awfully shameful, I reckon. I mean, don't the tags "gaul, elit, borju, mixed heritage, and frequent overseas flyers" ought to giveaway the fluent english lingo?? Maybe I'm fully mistaken. Stereotypes just are stereotypes. get what i mean?
